Tell-tale and otlter devices external to lantern for transmitting light to definite points. -A small mirror 1 is fitted in front of and above the source of light 4 of a bicycle lamp and reflects a portion of the light rearwardly and downwardly through a thin straight tube 3 on to a red glass 2 at the rear of the bicycle, so as to form a rear light without the use of a second lamp.
