Abstract

279,404. Miczuga, K. Oct. 19, 1926, [Convention date]. Foot - arch supports; foot bandages.-Footsupports in the form of a pad carried by a bandage passing around and over the foot have attached to the bandage a hollow elastic pad for use against the sole of the foot. The pad consists of bottom and top walls, the bottom wall comprising a rubber layer 2 and a fabric layer 3 and the top wall a rubber piece 4 vulcanized at its edge to the bottom wall. For inflation purposes the bottom wall may be pierced and sealing fluid, for example honey, introduced to cover the inner surface of the wall; after piercing the wall again for the introduction of air under pressure, on the withdrawal of the cannula the opening is closed by the sealing fluid. The pad is secured to the bandage by stitches or a seam.
