Abstract

349,885. Tampons ; medical treatment with radiations. DEAKIN, J. E. F., 215, Macquarie Street, Sydney, Australia. Oct. 13, 1930, No. 30631. Convention date, Nov. 8, 1929. [Class 81 (ii).] A vaginal or other tampon comprises a substantially spherical body of soft rubber having segmental shaped pockets produced by a number of diametral partitions. Preferably three partitions 4, at right-angles to one another and having circular peripheries 5 with beaded edges 6, are provided. Medicaments or the like may be placed in the recesses or introduced separately, the edges of the partitions preventing leakage. A string or tapes may be provided for withdrawal. For use with tubes of radium or the like, the partitions may be perforated or partly removed to permit drainage.
