Retaining devices below closure. - A closure for petrol and oil tanks and other containers a cap c adapted to fit over a neck member b having an upper part b' of greater diameter than its lower part b<2> which is secured within the opening a<1> of the tank and is formed with projections b<3> adapted to be engaged by the ends of blade springs d rotatably secured to the cap c and formed with inwardly extending portions d between which a cam member e engages, the cam member being rigidly secured to the cap c so that when the cap is applied to the container and rotated, the springs have their rotation stopped by the projections b<3> and are then forced outwards to secure the closure bv the. continued rotation of the cam member e. In a modification, the springs are rigidly secured to the cap and the cam member is rotatable relatively thereto by a handle projecting through the cap.
