Abstract

278,311. Morris Corporation, I. P. Oct. 4, 1926, [Convention date]. Seats.-A valve of the pivotal disc type is provided with sealing or closure means including a fluid pressure receiving chamber of tubular shape, a part at least of the walls of which are flexible and extended radially for closure, by fluid pressure. The flexible-sealing means preferably takes the form of a rubber tube 15 disposed in a recess of circular formation and secured by a separate ring 10. An inner supporting core 16 is provided to prevent collapse of the tube in the open position of the valve. The sealing pressure, such as air or water, is admitted to the. centre passage 17 of the core and thence by radial passages 18 into the tube.
