Abstract

Securing collars on shafts.-The cap 21 of a thrust bearing collar 24 is non-rotatably engaged with a divided or split conical sleeve 18, and is screwed to a hub member 8 so that rotation of the latter binds the sleeve 18 on the shalt A. The bore of the sleeve may be smooth or screwed, and in the latter case the threads bite into the shaft so that rotation of the cap 21 adjusts the collar 24 bodily along the shaft. The cap 21 and hub 8 may be made in two parts which interengage as shown in Fig. 2, so that radial thrust on the removable part 24 tends to bind the two parts more tightly together.
