Securing bearings on shafts.-A bearing for a loose pulley, having two rows of balls, is secured to a shaft by means of a sleeve 4, one end of which is conical and provided with a split 5, the other end being of slightly greater diameter than the shaft. The split 5 extends on to the portion of greater diameter. A fixing-nut 6 is required at the split end only, and the other side of the pulley can be adjacent to a fast pulley.
