Abstract
277,301. Bosch Akt.-Ges., R. Sept. 13, 1926, [Convention date]. Make-and-break switches, mechanical; cases.- The contacts e, f, which may be of molybdenum wire, of a switch are sealed into a glass &c. vessel a held in jaws i. A thin walled extension b of the vessel is acted upon by a cam disc g which causes the walls to bend and separate the contacts. The following modifications are disclosed; the vessel may be of bellows form and the contacts moved apart rectilinearly; it may be of U- form, with the contacts situated at the root of the U and the arms thereof pressed together; or the contacts may engage by spring action and be separated by a glass stem located inside the extension b. The vessel may be evacuated or filled with an inert gas, and the apparatus can -be used as a contact breaker for ignition apparatus.
