Abstract

Cases; contacts; thermal interrupters. - Periodic - contact switches, such as thermal interrupters, have their contact surfaces of tungsten, tantalum, molybdenum, or other refractory material, and are enclosed in a vacuum or an atmosphere of inert gas. In one construction, a vacuous or gas-filled bulb 5 contains refractory contacts 1, 2 mounted on springs 3, 4, and a bimetallic strip 6 which deflects one of the springs when heated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that for electromagnetic actuation, a movable armature is either enclosed in the bulb, or displaces the bulb bodily. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
