276,325. Stettiner Chamotte-Fabrik Akt.-Ges. vorm. Didier. Aug. 17, 1926, [Convention date]. Discharging; doors. - A cokereceiving hopper 7. adapted to travel along a bench of coke ovens 13 above bunkers 9, is combined with apparatus for operating the oven doors 12. there being arranged between the two parts of the apparatus a flexible connection which allows when the hopper is stationary, a limited movement of the door operating device so that it can automatically adjust its position in relation to the door to be opened. As shown. the hopper carriage carries a motor 14 for actuating the winding-gear of a cable 2 which is connected to the door 12 and passes over a guidepulley 1, the latter being adapted to run on an overhead rail 3 secured to the oven framework 5 and being connected to arms 10 projecting from the upper end of the hopper 7 by chains 11 which hang loosely when the pulley is midway between the arms 10. In operation, when the hopper 7 is moved on the rails 8, the forward chain 11 becomes taut and the pulley 1 is traversed along the rail 3: the cable 2 is then attached to the door 12 to be opened and on actuation of the winding gear the pulley 1 automatically centres itself between the arms 10.
