Abstract

274,550. Leitch & Co., Ltd., J. W., Everest, A. E., and Wallwork, J. A. April 19, 1926. Dye preparations.-Concentrated preparations of vat dyestuffs, which can be preserved for a considerable period, are made by mixing a paste of the dyestuff with an alkali salt of a higher fattv acid and with sodium carbonate or ammonia or both, with or without the addition of hydrosulphite. In examples, indigo paste is mixed with stearin soap, ammonia and hydrosulphite to form a paste, or with stearin soap and soda ash to form a preparation which can be cut up into blocks on cooling. Other indigo derivatives, e.g. Brom indigo F B, Ciba bordeaux B, or Ciba scarlet G, or anthraquinone dyestuffs, e.g. Algol black R O, Algol brilliant violet R, and Leucole yellow G may also be used.
