Abstract

Azo dyes are made in substance or on the fibre by coupling diazotized 3-aminodiphenylsulphone with an arylide of the general formula: <FORM:0392011/IV/1> in which X = alkyl and y = hydrogen or chlorine. Orange shades are obtained. In examples the following coupling components are specified: the 2-methyl-4-chloranilide, the o-toluidide and the 2-ethylanilide. Specifications 6379/12, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], and 17279/13, [Class 15 (ii), Dyeing, Processes &c. for], are referred to.
