Abstract
274,414. Schmidt, K. W. July 15, 1926, [Convention date]. Capsules.-In apparatus for closing medical capsules wherein the filled lower parts 9 of the capsules are forced into the upper parts or caps 2 by a plunger, each cap is held in an opening or recess 3 in a holder 1 and rests on a shoulder 4, and the lower part 5 of the opening is flared downwardly so that, when the lower capsule part 9 is forced upwardly from its holder 7 by means of the plunger 10, the lateral walls are so compressed as to engage readily with the cap. In operation, a plate 6 is moved over the recess 3 when a cap has been inserted, the holder 7 is raised into contact with the holder 1, the capsule is closed by upward movement of the plunger 10, the plate 6 is removed, and the plunger is raised further to eject the finished capsule. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers to the application of the invention to the capsule filling and closing apparatus described in Specification 266,323. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
