Supports.-A bicycle stand consists of a bar, or a number of bars interconnected by locking joints, attached to the cycle frame by a double pivotal joint and provided with a spring clip, which holds the stand, when out of use, folded against the frame, and receives the front or rear wheel when the stand is in use. As shown in Figs, 2 and 3, a clip 12 adapted to engage the front wheel 18 or the rear wheel 16 is mounted on a bar 1 connected by a spring joint 3 to a bar 2, which is pivoted to a member 2a rotatably mounted on a vertical pin 8 carried by a bracket 4 bolted to the frame members 6. The clip 12 is adjustable along a longitudinal slot in the bar 1 by means of a bolt 11, on which is rotatably mounted a base bar 13 adapted to engage the ground. The stand is collapsed by folding the bars 1, 2 together about the joint 3, turning the base bar 13 parallel to the bars 1, 2, and pivoting the stand upwards so that the clip 12 engages the frame tube 14. The stand may be locked in the position of use by a chain, lock, &c., passed through holes in the limbs of the spring clip 12. In a modification, the base bar 13 consists of two pivoted parts, which, on displacement, of the stand into the operative or inoperative position, are automatically brought into the transverse or the parallel position by means of a crank and link mechanism.
