Abstract

274,384. Steele, L. J., and Martin, H. April 16, 1926. Optical-projection apparatus; reflecting systems.-In a projector lamp adapted to produce a substantially parallel beam of light, a relatively small refractor d or refracting system is arranged to intercept forwardly directed rays of light which do not fall on two or more paraboloidal reflectors a, a' having their axes and foci coincident, a source of light b being situated at the coincident foci. The refractor d mav consist of a double convex lens mounted in a light framework held in position by light metal rods adjustably secured to one or both reflectors by nuts. An auxiliary reflector c may be arranged at the rear of the main reflectors so as to reflect all rearwardly directed rays of light back through the light source. Alternatively, one or more separate projecting systems f, Fig. 4, having for example ellipsoidal reflectors, may be arranged to provide converging beams converging to the coincident foci of the main reflectors.
