274,070. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Fitzgerald, A. S.). July 9, 1926, [Convention date]. Systems depending on static transformers. - In a protective system a. helium tube 59 is shunted across the primary of a transformer 67 so as to prevent the voltage thereacross, and hence across valves 32, 38 supplied therefrom from exceeding the discharge voltage of the tube. In a modification the filament currents are supplied from a current transformer 24 through an easily saturated transformer so as to limit the maximum voltage applied to the transformer.
