Wrenches with heads adjustable for position.-In a spanner of the kind having interchangeable heads adjustably pivoted to the bifurcated upper end of the handle and held in adjusted position by a trigger operated spring pressed stop member slidably mounted in a slot on the handle and adapted to engage notches in the circular shaped lever portions of the spanner heads, The trigger of the stop member is carried at the lower end of the stop member which slides within a trough extending the greater part of the length of the handle and the trigger projects through a slot in the lower end of a plate covering in the trough in the handle. The round part 10 of the head 11 is pivoted in a bifurcation of the circular upper end 8 of the handle 1 on a removable pivot 13 and is locked in adjusted angular position by the engagement of the end 9 of a spring-pressed rod 3 with one of a number of notches 12 in the periphery of the head. The rod 3 is housed in a longitudinal trough 2 in the handle 1, which is covered in by a cover plate 4. A spring 7 acting between the end of the rod and the end of the trough forces the rod upwardly. The trigger 6 extending through a slot 5 in the cover plate is carried at the lower end of the rod 3 so 'that the latter may be operated without necessitating shifting of the user's hand.
