Abstract

273,601. Kakurai, T. Feb. 1, 1927. Squares. - A transparent set - square is graduated along an edge B and along a line G at right-angles to the edge B, a notch C being formed at the intersection of the scales. Lines Hare drawn radially from the notch C, making with the edge Bangles equal to 1/3, , 1/8 &c. of a circle, to assist in drawing regular polygons. Apertures E are provided at the divisions of the graduations D so that circles can be described by inserting a centre pin and a pencil &c. into selected apertures. To find the centre and radius of curvature of a curve, the square is adjusted within the curve until the distances between the notch C and the three points of intersection of the curve with the. scales D, G are equal. The notch C is then at the centre.
