Abstract

272,353. Stokes, N. T. July 27, 1926. Rotary disc valves; rotary spherical valves.- A manually - actuated rotary disc valve comprises a deep cylindrical plunger D fitting over the whole of its periphery in the casing A and provided with a tubular passage L adapted when connecting the inlet and outlet ports G, H to form a continuous or sinuous curve. Grooves T are provided in the periphery of the plunger and seat to reduce friction and a spring washer P adjusted by a screwed cap Q is provided to hold the valve to its seat. Rotation of the valve member is limited by a stop pin 0 engaging a recess N in the valve member. The ports in the seat and valve member may be circular or sector shaped or one port may be arranged centrally and the other made arcshaped. The seating surfaces may be made concave or convex instead of flat.
