Opening by cutting or tearing. - The flanged cover of a tin is made of the same dimensions as the mouth of the body portion and has soldered to it a tom-off strip g provided with a ring or loop hand adapted to be soldered to the body portion. The loop may be formed integral with the tearoff strip, as shown in Fig. 8, the partially cut-out portion being folded around the end h<2> of the loop as indicated at h<3>.
