Overhead travellers and transporters. - In a ladle crane, the lifting beam 49 is suspended from the trolly 2 in bights of hoisting ropes 44 passing from drums 12 and round lower sheave blocks 43 on the beam and upper sheave blocks 42 on swinging beams 52 hanging from pivots 54 parallel to the drums. The ropes are reeved so as to bend always in the same direction. The provision of the swinging beams 52 prevents swing- ing of the load on starting the movement of the bridge 2a.
