Cut-out arrangements.-A switch in the primary circuit of the transformer supplying a R÷ntgen ray apparatus is opened automatically when one of the high voltage terminals is touched. The switch may be actuated or released by the current resulting from the charge induced on a conductor which is earthed through the actuating coil of the switch, and lies under the floor beneath a person touching the terminal, by the capacity current flowing through the person, by an electrometerlike device actuated by the voltage of the conductor or by the voltage between two points in proximity to the person, operating through a thermionic tube.
