Abstract

270,198. Lamont, J. Jan. 1, 1927. Guarding against unauthorized use.-Jaws A, B carrying projecting pieces M, N, are pivoted to brackets C, D, secured to the casing G of the steering column which casing is apertured at P, Q. When a pivoted hasp J is turned over to the right the jaws are forced together against the action of a spring T and the pieces M, N are jammed against the steering column U, thus locking it to the casing. The hasp J is secured by a lock in the operative position.
