Abstract

279,752. Francis, C. T. July 2, 1927. Guarding against unauthorized use.-A locking device consisting of a ring 7 screwed to the shaft 3 and a rotatable bolt 14, 15, is housed in a recess in the hub 2 of the steering wheel. In the position shown the wheel is fastened to the shaft 3. If the bolt is rotated by means of a key through 180� the part 15 is freed from the ring and connection between the wheel and shaft is broken.
