Abstract

269,614. Feldorf, E., Andresen, P., and Wade, G. E. Dec. 17, 1925. Bottles, non-refillable. - A bottle, for use in filling self-filling fountain pens and of the type having a chamber extending from the bottle, is provided with a ball-valve for retaining the ink in the chamber. The chamber is constituted by a tube B having a wide bore a and a narrow extension tube d surrounded by a cork or like ring C for making an airtight joint with the neck of the bottle. The chamber is filled by tilting the bottle, and the ink is retained in the chamber by a ball E, which closes the extension tube d. A member secured in the chamber to prevent removal of the ball may be in the form of a diametrically-arranged bridge F, Fig. 1, or may be of cruciform shape, or may consist of two pieces of material M, N, Fig. 4<A>, shaped and secured together to leave a cylindrical'passage P.
