Fountain-pen fillers.- An ink-bottle stopper for use in filling fountainpens of either the selffilling or non self-filling type has one portion B, Fig. 1, which fits within and forms a closure for the neck of the bottle C and a portion A of less external diameter provided with a central bore through which the nibcarrying end E of the pen is inserted the pen being thereby gripped and supported, so that on inverting the bottle the pen may be filled by several operations of its self-filling lever, or by giving the bottle and pen several downward jerks or swings to impart to the ink a momentum sufficient for it to displace the air within the pen sac or barrel. The stopper is made of indiarubber or like material, and may be provided with peripheral flanges F which bear upon the rim of the neck of the bottle, the relative positions of the parts being such that the bore which receives the pen remains uncompressed when the stopper is inserted into a bottle. In another form, Fig. 2, the pen-supporting part A, is disposed below the closure part B, the part A then projecting within the ink-receptacle so that when the latter is inverted the space G around the part A receives any sediment &c. that may be present. The bore of the part A may be tapered, and is normally closed by a plug. A screw-cap or the like for retaining the stopper in position may be provided instead of, or in addition to, the walls D or like portions of the stopper which engage within the neck of the bottle, or the walls D may fit outside the neck with or without additional securing means.
