Abstract

283,807. Mathat, H. Aug. 24, 1927. Reservoir pens; fillers. -For facilitating the filling of fountain pens, the ink-bottle stopper 7 is provided with a tubular member 9 into which the pen is adapted to be inserted, and a cylinder 18 in which works a piston 23 for forcing ink through the member 9 into the pen. The member 9 is closed at the lower end and is provided with an apertured partition 31 closed by a valve 33. The cylinder 18 is secured to the member 9 and communicates there with through an aperture below the partition 31. An aperture 27, adapted to be closed by a valve 28, is formed in the lower end of the cylinder 18 so. that wire is drawn into the cylinder from the bottle on the upstroke of the piston 23, and forced into the member 9 on the downstroke. A projection 38 may be provided for spacing the device from the bottom of the bottle. The pen barrel is made of transparent material, and a rotatable member 34, having a passage 36 for putting the interior of the barrel into or out of communication with the atmosphere, is provided.
