Corner strengthening-pieces. - The corners of a box or packing-case are strengthened by internal corner pieces A which extend the whole depth of the box and have flanges a - . which are held between the box frame E and the cover and bottom when these are nailed to the frame; the flanges a - - d may be made wider than the thickness of the frame E, the extra width being turned over the edges of the cover and bottom of the box and nailed to the exterior surfaces thereof when such cover and bottom are secured to the frame. The corner pieces are made from rectangular blanks folded at right-angles as shown and cut transversely at each end of the blank a distance equal to the thickness of the frame E so as to form the flange portions.
