Abstract
268,682. France, A. Nov. 22, 1926. Inclined trough wet-separating and washing apparatus; upward-current classifiers.-A coal &c. washing plant of the kind consisting of an inclined launder, or several of them superposed, with separating pockets, is provided with means for removing the loam on the material which has been washed, the loamy mud resulting being utilised as a muddy liquor for specific-gravity classification in the washing-plant. The Figure shows a series of launders 10, 10<1>, 10<11> arranged in cascade; the separating-pockets 9 of the lowest deliver schist, the two lowest launders deliver a product which is washed in a tank 12, and the uppermost launder delivers a washed material to which adheres some loamy mud. This material is rinsed on a fine-mesh vibrating screen 13, and is discharged at 14, while the loam-laden rinsing water is delivered to the tank 12, whence a centrifugal pump removes the product to the concentrating-tank 1.
