Abstract

267,238. Mossay. P. A. H. Dec. 14, 1925. Frames; axles.-The ground wheels of a motorpropelled crane serve for slueing and the wheel base may be lengthened for handling heavier loads. As shown in Fig. 1, the crane comprises relatively adjustable units 1, provided with ground wheels 3, 5. The rear unit 2 is supported on a steering wheel 5 and is in sliding engagement with the front axle 4 and with the platform 9 of the forward unit. The wheel base is altered by turning a screwed shaft 15 which is mounted on the unit 2 and works through a nut 19 on the unit 1. In a modification, Figs. and 6, the front axle 4 is provided with an extended guide 48 for the rear unit. The wheels 3 are mounted on the stub axles and may be swung through about 45‹ in opposite directions for slueing. Specifications 183,921 and 272,577, [both in Clos,3 79 (v).
