Abstract

266,814. Knipe, A. C. Dec. 3, 1925. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers; rotary mixers.-An apparatus for mixing concrete under reduced pressure comprises a container a, Fig. 1. fitted with paddles mounted on a horizontal shaft and capable of being tilted about a horizontal axis for discharging purposes. The container has a cover c capable of being hermetically closed by a toggle mechanism f and carrying a connection to the air pump. An alternative apparatus shown in Fig. 3 comprises a rotating drum 14 supported on wheels 15 and having at each end a charging door 18 mounted in a trunnion on a radial arm 20, the two armsbeing simultaneously actuated for opening the apparatus by a worm and hand-wheel 23. Theconnections to the air-pump are made through. the trunnions.
