Abstract
266,799. Mordey, W. M. Nov. 27, 1925. Motors with unwound iron armatures; cores.- The induced element of a polyphase motor, particularly for electric meters, consists of a practically nonconducting block of finely divided highly hysteretic magnetic material without winding. Powdered magnetite, pyrrhotite, nickel and cobalt, steel and iron filings, or material in the form of wire with or without a binder may be used. In a modification, the induced element comprises a solid block of pyrrhotite rock. Phasesplitting devices are employed when the motor is to run on single-phase mains.
