266,464. Barrow, Hepburn, & Gale, Ltd., and Hawkyard, A. Nov. 27, 1925. Agitating - appliances. -Materials, such as fabrics, leather, &c. to be dried are suspended in a frame 15 which is suspended on links 17 and reciprocated through eccentrics and rods from a shaft 7, the drying being effected by the air currents generated by the to and fro movement of the material. The material may be suspended upon poles having end sockets formed with eccentrically mounted pivots 29 which engage with openings in the sides of the frame. In a modification, superposed rows of material are suspended in the frame. In another arrangement, two frames or sets of frames are reciprocated through eccentrics and rods from a common shaft disposed between them. Instead of being suspended, the frames may be supported upon wheels which are themselves supported either upon the floor or upon guideways secured to the sides of the drying chamber. The material may be suspended in loops upon poles supported by the frames.
