In the construction shown in Fig. 1 the cable core is formed of rubber 7 enclosed in a lead sheath 6. Fig. 2 shows another construction in which a hollow rubber core 8 contains a flattened pipe 9 of resilient material. Various forms of pipes, either alone or surrounded by a rubber sheath, may be used for the core.
