Abstract

264,619. Thompson, L. S. J., and Mather & Platt, Ltd. Nov. 7, 1925. Regulating delivery by varying speed of motor.- In electrically - driven pumps for supplying a pressure system, such as sprinkler installations, a non-return valve a is arranged between the pump and the system, and means are provided to stop the motor driving the pump when liquid ceases to flow through the valve. Part of the water passing the valve flows through conduits c, d into a bucket e suspended on one end of a balanced lever f and provided with an overflow h and a leak port i, and during this period the switch j controlling the motor is open. When the liquid ceases to flow and the valve a seats, the bucket empties through the port i, and the weight g tilts the lever f to close the switch and stop the motor.
