Abstract

264,375. Dus-Fruf Metal Trunk Co., and Paquette, F. May 14, 1926. Lids. - A sealing strip for preventing ingress of dust &c. into an automobile trunk &c. comprises a strip 20 of rubber or other compressible material having three flanges 19, 21, by one of which it is secured to the lid of the trunk so that when the lid is closed the other two flanges 21 engage the rim of the body. Alternatively, the strip may be secured to the body so that two flanges engage the inner face of the lid. The strip is preferably secured to the lid by means of inwardly and upwardly inclined flanges 18 thereon, or may be secured to the rim of the body by outwardly and downwardly inclined flanges thereon. In another form, Fig. 9, in which the two unsecured flanges 26, 27 of the strip are adapted to embrace the rim of the body, the strip is secured to the lid by metal strips 29 which are of right-angular form and are held by the inturned flanges 18 on the lid.
