Abstract
264,152. Siemens -- Schuckertwerke Ges. Jan. 5, 1926, [Convention date]. Loaded cables; cables and conductors, processes for making.-In the manufacture of continuously loaded conductors, a layer of heat insulating material such as asbestos, mixed with cotton which is burnt up during the process, is interposed between the conductor and the loading strip during the annealing process. The asbestos is also removed at the end of the process and the space thus produced may be filled with an electrically insulating medium. The loading strip may be blackened to lessen the period of heating, which may be obtained by passing a current through the strip.
