Abstract

263,795. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Dec. 23, 1925, [Convention date].. Addition to 263,178 and 263,179. Anthraquinonethiomorpholine sulphonic acids. -The anthraquinonethiomorpholines described in Specification 263,179 are converted into acid dyestuffs by treatment with sulphonating agents. According to examples, the thiomorpholine from 1-aminoanthraquinone-2-ethylenethiohydrin and those from 1: 4-diaminoanthraquinone-2-chlor-3- thichydrin and 1 : 5-diaminoanthraquinone-2 : 6- dithiohydrin (Specification 263.178) are sulphonated with a mixture of oleum and sulphuric acid. The products dye wool from an acid bath in reddish brown and green shades. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the treatment of 1-amino-4-p-toluidoanthraquinone - 2 - thiohydrin with oleum whereby ring-closure and sulphonation occur simultaneously. The sulphonation of the dithiomorpholine from 1: 4-diaminoanthraquinone-2:3-dithiohydrin is also mentioned. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
