Abstract

261,983. Shortland, R. A. April 19, 1926. Electric appliance.-An electric hair brush comprises an insulating back and handle 1, and a curved yielding rubber member 2 from which project bristles 5 connected to positive and negative leads 6, 7; current is supplied through a flexible cable 10 which carries a plug 11 adapted to ellgage conducting sockets 8, 9 in the handle connected to the leads 6, 7. The wires 6, 7 are conductively connected with the brustles 5 by twisting once round the stem as shown in Fig. 4, an insulating backing 19 also being provided. Bristles of whalebone, hogs hair or insulated metal are interposed between conducting bristles of opposite polarity. A cabinet containing a battery and an induction coil or transformer may supply the necessary current.
