[Class 81 (ii).] An electrotherapeutic hair brush comprises a brush stock 1 and a carrying member or support 7 therefor containing a battery 4 in the handle 5 thereof, the support being detachably connected to the stock by means, in the form of a friction grip or anchoring device, which also serve as the terminals of an open electric circuit in the brush, and contact with the battery terminals in the support. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the support 7 is in the form of a comb carrying two insulated rows of teeth 3 charged from the battery 4. The connection between the stock and support is in the form of a clip 6 projecting inwardly at 6a to engage in a groove 7a in the support 7, and another clip 8 at the end of the support, formed of two components insulated from one another and each electrically connected to one of two insulated rows of metallic bristles 2a forming the brush. Extensions 8a of the clip 8 grip and make metallic contact with the two insulated rows of comb teeth 3. In the form shown in Figs. 5 and 8 the support 7 is connected to the stock 1 by means of a clip 16 and projecting tongues 15 which fit into grooves 10, which also carry conducting strips 12, 12a. The strip 12 is bent over at the end nearest to the handle 5 so as to contact with one terminal of the battery 4, and the other strip 12a has a projection 14 through which the circuit is completed on moving into contact therewith a ring 13 which screws on a sleeve 23, which itself screws over the threaded end of the support 7. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the circuit is completed by moving the ring 13 against one of the comb teeth 3. Specification 280,308, [Class 81 (ii), Medical &c. appliances], is referred to.
