Abstract

260,829. Hillson, A. K. Feb. 22, 1926. Tools. - A block for supporting sheets of abrasive or polishing material is in three parts hinged together, the sheet being stretched over the centre part 1 and gripped by means of the side parts 2, which fit closely against the centre part to form therewith the equivalent of a single block. The parts are secured together at each end by two strips 3 and are held in the closed position by spring or other catches. The outer surface of the centre part 1 may be flat, concave, or convex, and mav be covered with hard felt 6. The edges of the sheet of cleaning material may be gripped by teeth on the centre or side parts of the block, the teeth penetrating through the sheet into corresponding grooves. The cleaning material may comprise a chain burnisher provided with flaps at each side which are gripped by the parts of the block.
