Pivoted handles.-A cleaning appliance comprising a U-shaped reversible head having a scrubbing brush on one side and a mop on the other side has a handle 9 pivoted between the parallel legs 1, 2 of the head, means being provided for retaining the handle vertically, when required, comprising a pair of spring plates 11 attached to the inner faces of the legs 1, 2, each plate having a depression as shown and bearing against the handle or socket therefor.
