Abstract

234,579. Cole, A. R., and Ferrabee, J. H. March 25, 1924. Holders with recessed-back retaining-devices for mops; pivoted and swivelling handles; fixing by self-grip sockets.-A holder for dusters, mops or like appliances comprises a head a (with or without a projecting rim b) one side of which is provided with a housing c to accommodate resilient members for gripping the duster or other appliance. The members may consist of springs k in the form of a rosette, into which part of the duster may be forced, the ends being loose or being brought over the edges of the holder and secured by resilient means. The holder may be marginally cushioned by rubber edging m. The handle of the device is attached to the holder by means of a two-part socket h held together by bolts and nuts i, j, and provided with limbs g which are pivoted on trunnions f formed on a collar d rotatably mounted on the housing c. Upward movement of the, handle may be limited by the ends of the limbs g.
