260,681. Bass, H., and Erste B÷hmische Kunstseidefabrik Akt.-Ges. Aug. 5, 1925. Cellulose xanthates, processes for making filaments from.-Molasses or the residual liquors obtained from the distillation of alcoholic liquors are added to the precipitation baths used in the spinning of viscose silk; the baths contain also sulphuric acid and alkali sulphate, the former being in proportions greater or less than those required to produce acid sulphate, or they contain sulphuric acid and the salts of polyvalent metals, such as the sulphates, chlorides, and nitrates of magnesium, aluminium, and cerium. The latter baths may also contain sodium, ammonium, or other alkali sulphate in the proportions specified above relatively to the sulphuric acid present.
