Book-keeping: manuscript pads; hand-rests.- A device for holding loose sheets during the writing of duplicated entries in book-keeping comprises a base plate a with offset members h secured at the corners to receive spring-pressed plungers g which clamp the corners of the sheets k, and with studs l to engage apertures in the sheets. A spring i on the stem of each plunger bears upon a disc m provided in its underside with an indiarubber pad n in contact with the paper. To enable the plunger to be held in its raised inoperative position, its stem is provided with a cross-bar h which can be passed through a slot e in the plate b when the plunger is raised, whereupon rotation of the plunger positions the ends of the pin upon the top of the plate b. A hand-rest q slidable and rotatable upon a rail p on the right-hand side of the plate a serves to hold the sheets down and may be used as a ruler.
