Respirators. - In respiratory cartridges as claimed in the parent Specification, viz. comprising parallel filter cells in which chemicalcontaining pockets a alternate with air pockets a<1> the pockets a being closed by perforated partitions such as c, the corrugated frames b forming the pockets are so arranged that, in adjacent cells, only pockets of the same kind are in alignment. Additional perforations d, wholly or partly in alignment, may be provided in the frames b and the partition c. The corrugations in the frames b may be of rectangular section and the air pockets a<1> may be formed with raised portions or may be wholly raised above the level of the chemicals in order to project into the superimposed air pockets. Alternatively, the corrugations mav be of dovetail section. In all of these modifications the partitions c are dispensed with, the closure of the pockets a being effected by the bases of the pockets superimposed upon them.
