Air-heating stoves comprise a body 2 divided into front and rear compartments 10, 11 by an open-bottomed flue 9, air being admitted at the lower ends of the compartments and flue and being heated by means, such as a gas burner 18, adjacent the lower portion of the flue. Openings 12 at the top of the flue allow directly-heated air to enter it, the air then passing to a mixing-space formed between a plate 4 having perforations 6 and an upper imperforate plate 13 before entering the room.
