Electric stoves.-The air in a railway carriage or the like is heated by an apparatus comprising a casing L having a front metal plate H formed with top and bottom grids or ported devices Y, Z, metal plates G, E, F spaced one behind the other rearwardly of the front to provide vertical air ducts, and an electric heating element X in one of the ducts. Additional pairs of plates may be arranged outside the plates G, H.
