Abstract

Prisms and like elements, oscillating. - In advertising devices comprising a series of parallel laths oscillated simultaneously to display their faces alternately, the laths comprise bars A, Fig. 4, over which are slipped flat tubes built up of strips T, S secured together at their edges. Perforated strengthening plates may be fitted on the ends of the tubes T, S to engage studs on the bars A. Paper may be mounted on a flexible foundation before being cut into the strips T, S, and the strips are preferably wide enough to overlap. The laths are oscillated through cranks on their ends actuated by cords J attached to pulleys G on two of the laths. The cords pass over pulleys K and are connected to pivoted levers L, N, which are in turn tilted by an arm R on a uniformly rotating wheel 0. The pulleys G are further coupled together by an endless belt H.
