Abstract

328,021. Wright, G. M. Jan. 16, 1929. Shaft couplings.- In order to obtain a constant angular velocity of a driven shaft in a shaft coupling wherein the shafts may be slightly eccentric, the shafts are held in driving connection by a closed loop of string, cord or the like wound round an even number of radial pegs attached to the shaft ends. The pegs 5 are preferably mounted in discs 3, 4 which are attached to the ends of the shafts 1, 2, and are separated by a small space X. A closed continuous loop of cord 6 is wound round all the pegs and passes alternately over a peg attached to each shaft. The device is applied to driving picture and the like telegraph apparatus.
